Kevin Durant will miss the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. According to injury reports, KD felt soreness in his right hamstring following their 112-107 victory over the Orlando Magic on New Year’s Eve. As a result, the star was unable to play in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
With Durant missing again against the Clippers, many are wondering if the hamstring ailment has progressed into something more serious. Fortunately, Suns coach Frank Vogel has delivered some positive news, stating that Durant’s injury is considered day-to-day. That means he can return whenever he feels like he can play through the pain or when it totally goes away.
With the newly discovered big four of Paul George, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook, the Los Angeles Clippers are undoubtedly the greatest team in Los Angeles this season. When Harden arrived on the scene, the Clippers were off to a shaky start. However, as they hit their stride as a freshly constituted squad, they were one of the season’s most unstoppable powers.
The Clippers are due to play the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, who appear to have an advantage with Kevin Durant out of the picture. Despite the presence of other talents on the squad, including as Bradley Beal and Devin Booker, Durant is probably the club’s top player. Having said that, the Suns may have a difficult time stopping the Lakers.
The Suns must overcome the possibility of George, Harden, and Leonard catching fire from the perimeter or behind the three-point line. Once they get into a rhythm, all three stars are deadeye shooters. Applying a lot of pressure on defense, even if only temporarily, would throw them off.
The other alternative is for Bradley Beal and Devin Booker to step up offensively. Their offensive power has greatly decreased without Kevin Durant. Fortunately, both Beal and Booker are offensive threats in their own right and have led their respective teams to victory prior to joining forces with Durant. If they want to beat the Clippers, they’ll have to channel their inner superstars.
