The Phoenix Suns confirmed Monday that guard Bradley Beal will be out for the next two weeks while he recovers from a right ankle strain.
What happened: Beal was injured in the first quarter of Friday’s game against the New York Knicks. It was Beal’s third game back after a lower back strain that had kept him out for the majority of the season.
Beal’s impact: Acquired this summer in a trade with Washington, the All-Star guard is averaging 14.7 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in six games this season.
With Beal out for the rest of the season, the Suns (14-12) will rely more on Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to carry the load. Before Friday, Durant, Booker, and Beal had only played one game together this season.
