The Phoenix Suns hosted the Sacramento Kings in Arizona on Friday evening.
The Suns defeated 114-106 in the absence of 2014 MVP Kevin Durant (ankle), despite Devin Booker scoring 28 points on 71% shooting from the floor.
They will play their next game on Tuesday evening in Arizona against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
The Suns practiced on Sunday, but head coach Frank Vogel said that Durant did not attend (h/t Duane Rankin of azcentral).
Rankin inquired about the status of Durant, Grayson Allen, and Nassir Little for Tuesday’s game against the Warriors.
Vogel said, “They’re all possibilities, but it’s too early to tell.”
Durant has appeared in 19 games this season, averaging 31.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 52.1% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc.
The Suns are 12-10 in their first 22 games, enough for seventh place in the Western Conference.
They are 6-4 in their previous ten games and on a two-game losing streak.
Durant is in his first full season with the Suns after being moved in February (via the Brooklyn Nets).
Last season, the Suns finished fourth in the Western Conference and were eliminated in the second round of the NBA playoffs by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
Durant averaged 29.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game in 47 regular-season games (with the Suns and Nets).
