The $500,000 prize money awarded to each Los Angeles Lakers player for winning the NBA In-Season Tournament may not seem like much to multi-millionaires like LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

However, it is life-changing for younger players who make less money, such as Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino.

So it’s not surprising that some of LeBron’s younger teammates got their priorities straight after the Lakers won the inaugural In-Season Tournament Saturday night in Las Vegas, defeating the Indiana Pacers 123-109.

“The first question they asked me when I came off was, ‘When do we get our money?'” LeBron told ESPN’s Malika Andrews after winning the event with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and two steals.

“‘I don’t know,’ I say. But I have a feeling I do, but I’m not going to tell them just yet.”

The pay of the Lakers’ two-way players — Colin Castleton, D’Moi Hodge, and Alex Fudge — will increase dramatically from the $559,782 they are expected to earn.
