On Saturday, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors 113-112 thanks to Paul George’s game-winning 3-pointer.

However, Clippers guard Russell Westbrook had another quiet game, scoring only eight points in 19 minutes of bench time. According to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, James Harden provided some words of encouragement for his teammate throughout the game:

When asked what he told his Clippers buddy, Harden replied, “Stay with it, you know what I mean.” It’s a long season, for example. And I know it’s probably annoying for him because the minutes are changing. But I think we’re all trying to figure out how we want to play our varied lineups, and who works best with whom. So, you know, it’s annoying. I believe it is human nature to be frustrated. We all want to put our heads down, and I believe we all need someone to pick us up and tell us everything will be fine. It’s a process, you know, and we’re trying to figure it out.”

Westbrook was sent to the bench by the Clippers while they sought to integrate Harden, and his numbers have plummeted as a result. Westbrook has averaged nine points a game in his last ten games while shooting less than 38 percent from the field.
