Devin Booker rolled his ankle in the Phoenix Suns’ 112-105 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Booker, who landed on Dennis Schroder’s foot and limped to the locker room in the second quarter, returned to the game, although his performance suffered as a result of the injury.
Despite playing 33 minutes, Booker only got eight points. He couldn’t get his shot to fall, making only two of his 12 attempts.
According to reports, the Suns star averted a severe injury. Booker is expected to miss Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets. Phoenix (11-7) expects their star to miss at least two games and hopes to be ready for Tuesday’s In-Season Tournament game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Booker addressed his injuries during the Raptors’ 112-105 loss.
“I don’t know if it got stiffer, but I wasn’t going to spend the rest of the night trying to beat people off the dribble,” he added. “We were still taking what the defense gave us. They were still trapping, so I figured I could go out there, defy gravity, and get open shots for others.”
The Suns are already without Bradley Beal due to injury and couldn’t afford to lose another key player. Booker has already missed eight games this season and has only recently rediscovered his stride on the court.
