Along with the losing streak came a barrage of criticism and mockery directed toward Harden, who recently took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to ostensibly answer to the critics with a comment placed alongside a series of photos of himself.

“Im not use to sympathy nobody gotta feel for me, but Imma stay on top of every dollar this real money,” Harden stated in an email.

The move from the Sixers to the Clippers was the third time in recent memory that James Harden had basically deserted his teammates in the hopes of being traded to what he perceived to be greener pastures. Harden has yet to find success in the sequence of trades he has sought since leaving the Houston Rockets, as both his stints with the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers ended in second-round losses.

Of course, it’s still early for the Clippers, but it’s difficult to imagine a team with Harden’s lack of cohesion with teammates Paul George and Kawhi Leonard truly competing in a Western Conference that includes the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, and other potential juggernauts.

On November 22, the Clippers will play again against the Spurs.
