Suns guard Devin Booker is scheduled to return to the court on Wednesday after missing the previous five games due to a right calf strain, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
Bradley Beal, who injured his back against Oklahoma City on Sunday, is also likely to play against Minnesota on Wednesday, according to Rankin.
If both Booker and Beal are officially cleared to play, it will be the first time the Suns’ new big three has played since the regular season began.
With Booker and Beal both missing for much of the season, Phoenix has struggled to start, losing six of its first ten games despite Kevin Durant’s normal All-NBA output. Durant has averaged 30.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.6 rebounds per game on.498/.429/.851 shooting, while Beal has only played three games and Booker has only played twice.
Grayson Allen, Josh Okogie, and Keita Bates-Diop have all been regular starters in the first three weeks of the season, but as long as Phoenix’s big three is available alongside center Jusuf Nurkic, just one of them will be in the starting five as of Wednesday. Allen, who has yet to come off the bench this season, is likely to keep his starting role.
Eric Gordon, who missed Sunday’s game due to a shoulder injury suffered on Friday, is also hoping to return on Wednesday, according to Rankin.
