Isn’t it true that the Phoenix Suns lack a point guard? Devin Booker disagrees.

“I don’t talk to them,” Booker stated when questioned about skeptics who claim the Arizona organization lacks a legitimate player at the position by Stephanie Ready on NBA on TNT.

Booker finished with eight assists, three of which were consecutive, in their 108-104 win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night at Chase Center.

Booker finished with 32 points on 13-of-21 shooting after missing the Suns’ last preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers last Monday due to a painful left toe. He was responsible for 15 of the Suns’ final points, including seven of his own.

“Just figuring it out right now,” Booker explained. “That’s the phase that we’re in.”

Booker is not expected to play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. Booker and Suns guard Bradley Beal, who missed the Warriors game due to back discomfort, are classified as questionable for the game on the Suns’ injury report.

Booker is reported as having left foot pain.

On Tuesday, Booker accomplished a couple historic feats. In terms of assists, he surpassed Jeff Hornaceck for sixth place in Suns history. He also became the Suns’ second player (after Charles Barkley) to have multiple 30-point games in the team’s season openers.

The Phoenix Suns will play the Utah Jazz at home on Saturday. The Suns face the Lakers in their first NBA in-season tournament game on Nov. 10 at home.

In 2023-24, the Suns are predicted to have one of their best teams in franchise history, if not the best ever. Beal, Booker, and forward Kevin Durant have all averaged 22.1 points per game in their careers.
