Skip Bayless, an NBA analyst, has built a career out of loathing LeBron James. He is well-known for being James’ biggest detractor, and he makes that apparent in all of his comments on television and on social media.
However, every now and again, Bayless calls it like he sees it, and that’s exactly what he did on Tuesday.
Bayless took to Twitter during the Lakers’ season opener against the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets to criticize the officials for calling the game unfairly against James and the Lakers.
Here’s what Bayless had to say:
“If the refs gave LeBron any respect, this game would be much closer.” He made no free throws.”
Again, Bayless rarely defends LeBron, so when he does, you know things are out of hand. And so it was in the first half of the first game of the NBA season.
Despite numerous drives to the basket, many of which resulted in blatant fouls that were not called, James did not go to the line once.
Tedd Buddwell on Twitter provided a simple example:
James and the Lakers were able to reduce a large hole to nine points before halftime and are now attempting to claw their way back in the second half.
The fact that James receives so few calls has always been an issue. Hopefully, this problem will be resolved soon.
