Draymond Green’s latest suspension has the Golden State Warriors reeling. Green was previously suspended after swinging at Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurki while falling backward.
Green was just handed a suspension period while undergoing counseling. According to recent reports, the Warriors are in a ’emotional’ state as a result of the suspension.
On Monday, December 18, Green received advise from Celtics veteran and Top 75 all-time player Paul Pierce on how to be physical without getting kicked out of the game, as he has recently.
Pierce Discusses Draymond’s Tactics
SHOWTIME Basketball made public Pierce’s remarks, which were culled from his internet program with fellow Celtics icon Kevin Garnett.
Pierce is not one of the top ten players in terms of ejections. Green is presently ranked second on the list, trailing only Detroit Pistons center Rasheed Wallace. Green has 20 ejections in his career, while Wallace has 29.
Warriors trail the Lakers by three games
Despite Green and the Warriors’ slow start to the season, they are only three games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the Western Conference’s eighth and final playoff place.
Last season, the Lakers won the In-Season Tournament and finished second in the Western Conference.
If Green can bounce back and the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, play their best down the stretch, the Dubs may once again be considered contenders.
Thompson scored 28 points in 29 minutes against the Trail Blazers on Sunday, indicating that his days as an elite NBA shooting guard aren’t quite finished, which is a nice development given how much the club has battled with Green on the outside looking in.
