Durant stated that Green has been involved in incident after incident and expressed optimism that the Warriors forward would receive all of the assistance he requires to stop such conduct.
Draymond Green, a former teammate of Kevin Durant’s on the Golden State Warriors, has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA. Following Wednesday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Phoenix Suns superstar reacted to the news.
The Suns’ big three – Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker – played together for the first time this season, but the night was ruined as the Nets won. Durant was asked about Green’s ban after the loss for hitting KD’s teammate Jusuf Nurkic during Tuesday’s game.
“That was insane to witness. I’m glad Nurk is okay. That has never happened before on a basketball court in an NBA game. I hope Draymond receives the assistance he requires. “Incident after incident,” Durant said.
“I know Draymond, and he hasn’t been that way when I was around coming into the league,” he said. “Hopefully, he gets the help he needs and gets back on the court, and puts all the stuff behind him.”
The NBA has suspended the Warriors forward indefinitely for striking Nurkic during the game. Green will also attend therapy and will be allowed to return to the league only after meeting specific standards.
It is Green’s fourth high-profile event in the last year. Notably, he attacked his then-teammate Jordan Poole before the start of the 2022-23 season during a Warriors practice. He was punished after viciously stomping on Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis during the playoffs last year. This season, he choked Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in the middle of a game and was suspended for five games as a result.
