With a 119-116 victory over the Golden State Warriors, the Phoenix Suns remained unblemished against the Warriors this season.
With the exception of the Warriors’ 11-point run in the second quarter, neither team was able to pull away to a meaningful full-court lead for the duration of the game.
The Suns led by one point entering the fourth quarter, which has always been a source of concern for supporters because Phoenix has struggled in the final 12 minutes all season.
This, however, was not the case until the opening ten minutes of the fourth quarter.
The Suns took a 10-point lead with less than two minutes remaining, thanks to some clutch three-point shooting from Devin Booker.
While several egregious turnovers allowed the Warriors to claw their way back into the game, cutting the Suns’ lead to one, the Suns held on to win.
Devin Booker finished the game with 32 points. When Booker was on the court, Phoenix had a +15 advantage.
Every starter for the Suns scored at least ten points.
Meanwhile, the Warriors were almost exactly the opposite, with their bench, aside from Steph Curry, keeping them in the game.
Draymond Green (ejected in the third quarter), Kevon Looney, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins scored just 12 points combined.
Golden State’s bench scored 80 points, setting a season high for any club in the NBA.
The Suns will now have to rest quickly before facing the Brooklyn Nets at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
