NBA All-Star Anthony Davis recently sold his luxurious trophy home in Westlake Village, California, but not without taking a financial Һit. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Lakers center sold the property for $6.6 million, which is less than what he initially paid for it. The expansive estate had last changed hands in 2018 for $7,479,000.
Davis acquired the property during his stint with the New Orleans Pelicans and attempted to sell it earlier this year for just under $8 million. However, after lowering the price to $7.5 million in October, it finally sold by the end of the year for the reduced amount, resulting in a rare real estate loss for Davis.
Situated within the guard-gated North Ranch Country Club Estates, the residence spans an impressive 15,815 square feet and boasts five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms. Originally built in 1996, the contemporary Mediterranean-style home has undergone expansions and remodeling over the years.
Designed with a basketball star in mind, the property features a full indoor court and sports gym. The entryway welcomes you into a grand, two-story foyer, and the floor plan includes formal living and dining rooms. The remodeled kitchen is equipped with granite counters, double islands, and a pantry, while the spacious master bedroom offers a fireplace, en suite bathroom, and a walk-in closet.
Additional noteworthy amenities of the property include a home theater, office, rec room, wine cellar, and a separate guesthouse. The sprawling 2.33-acre grounds feature an infinity-edge pool with dual slides, water features, and a spa. Outdoor amenities also include a covered kitchen, manicured turf, sundecks, and a sunken trampoline.
Although Davis bid farewell to his Westlake Village estate, he still has a place to call home. He had been renting a luxurious mansion in Bel-Air for a steep monthly lease of $50,000. The six-bedroom property, located in a gated community, boasts a gourmet kitchen, gym, pool, and basketball court—clearly catering to his preferences.
Originally from Chicago, Davis was selected by the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) in the 2012 NBA Draft. As a seven-time All-Star and the 2017 All-Star Game MVP, Davis made a move to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019, where he played a pivotal role in helping the team secure the NBA championship in 2020.
