The Boston Celtics climbed to an NBA-best 12-3 with a close home win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday evening. Although Boston was in command of this game from the start, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first few minutes, the Bucks were able to get things closer than Celtics supporters would have wanted, but Boston eventually held on for the 119-116 triumph.
Jaylen Brown was one Celtics player who had a solid game against Milwaukee, coming off probably his worst performance of the season in Boston’s recent loss to the Charlotte Hornets.
Following the game, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was completely open about how Brown was able to bounce back against Milwaukee.
“One, it’s not overreacting to a long year, so you’re going to have bad games,” Mazzulla said, according to Celtics on CLNS. “And two, regardless of whether he plays well or not, he does the same thing, the same routine after shootaround, with his film, with reads on the court with his coaches, and so for him it’s just he stays even-keeled.” It’s simple to believe in him and know that he’ll work his way back.”
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 26 points against the Bucks. While Brown hasn’t done much to alleviate worries about his weak handle or late-game decision making this season, there’s no disputing how excellent of a pure scorer he can be when his jumper falls, like it did on Wednesday night.
