Bronny James, the 19-year-old son of NBA legend LeBron James, has been diligently preparing himself for basketball. His recent introduction at USC’s HoopLA event, which marks the start of the collegiate basketball season, garnered significant attention.
During the event, Bronny and his USC teammates warmly welcomed the attendees as they were formally introduced. Bronny made quite an entrance, performing a routine on the court while sporting a red and yellow Trojans jersey and sweatpants.
USC’s Instagram account shared a video of Bronny’s dance skills, captioning it with, “During his Trojan HoopLA introduction, @bronny Һit the dougie.” The event also featured other notable athletes, and attendees were entertained by rapper Saweetie and DJ Zack Biа.
Bronny, donning his No. 6 jersey, was photographed amid the jubilation of his USC classmates and new teammates. It’s worth noting that LeBron James himself returned to wearing the No. 23 jersey when he rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014, after briefly donning it during his tenure with the Miami Heat in 2010.
LeBron took to his Instagram story to share snippets of Bronny’s introduction and exit, expressing his pride and support. Bronny, a former star player at Sierra Canyon, is highly anticipated to make his collegiate basketball debut this year.
However, his availability for the team’s inaugural game on November 9 is uncertain due to his recovery from a cardiac arrest he experienced in July. A subsequent diagnosis revealed a significant congenital heart defect.
Andy Enfield, USC’s head basketball coach, confirmed that Bronny was absent from the team’s initial practice of the season. While he assured that Bronny’s health was excellent, no further medical updates were provided. Enfield expressed his excitement for Bronny’s academic success and regular attendance in classes.
After Bronny’s cardiac arrest, he spent two days in the hospital before undergoing necessary surgical intervention. LeBron James, grateful for the overwhelming support, expressed his appreciation through a statement on social media, thanking everyone for their prayers and affection.
While the James family continues to navigate this situation, they appreciate the outpouring of support from their extended family of fans. LeBron concluded his statement by mentioning the “James Gаng,” a term used to refer to his family.
