LeBron James accumulated 16 points and nine rebounds in just 23 minutes of play for the Lakers, who improved their home record to 5-0 this season. This game marked the Lakers’ first comfortable win of the season. Russell connected on six of the team’s 22 three-pointers, while Austin Reaves sank four triples on his way to an impressive stat line of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
Rui Hachimura contributed 23 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, for the Lakers. Prior to this game, the Lakers had not won a game by more than six points, but they built a commanding 31-point lead over the short-handed Grizzlies in the second half and cruised to victory.
