Drake took to Instagram on Monday (Nov. 6) to post a new ad for Nike’s NOCTA Basketball campaign, which features Kevin Durant. As shown in a few photos, the NBA player wore several pieces from the new collaboration in a room draped in cash. On a neighboring television, a glimpse of Durant in his Phoenix Suns jersey could also be seen. “IT’S SIMPLE MONEY. Drake’s description read, “NOCTA Basketball, on and off-court performance apparel.” Fans may purchase the items today (November 7) on the brand’s official website.
Jackets, pants, knit tops, leggings, socks, boxers, and headbands from NOCTA Basketball’s current collection are made from materials such as velour and Nike’s Dri-FIT technology. Visitors to the store will also find the freshly introduced Glide kicks in a variety of colorways.
Drake first unveiled NOCTA, which stands for “nocturnal creative process,” in 2020. “I always felt like there was an opportunity for Nike to embrace an entertainer the same way they had athletes,” he wrote at the time on Nike’s website. “I thought about how crazy it would have been and what it would have meant for an artist to have a flagship Nike deal.”
“It’s about making something for people on the go,” the OVO star continued. “People who want effective, comfortable fits that adapt to different environments… [It’s] defined by the sort who are on the road all day and night — the grinders, the hard workers — attempting to achieve their goals while taking no shortcuts.”
Drake debuted a NOCTA golf collection in 2021, inspired by his uncle, Stephen Sher, whom he referred to as “one of my idols.” “A man who took me under his wing, and showed me much of what life had to offer and even more so what your own life can become when you are dedicated and loyal,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
