The Phoenix Suns will play the Los Angeles Lakers in California on Wednesday evening.
They will, however, be missing All-Star guard Devin Booker, who is sidelined with an injury.
Before the game, NBA on TNT’s Jared Greenberg provided an update on Booker.
“NEW: Devin Booker is out tonight due to a left mid-foot sprain suffered during Tuesday’s win at Golden State,” Greenberg writes. According to a team source, Booker hopes to return to action on Tuesday, pending the findings of an MRI, which he will obtain when the team returns home.”
Booker produced 32 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and one steal in Tuesday’s 108-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors and the Chase Center.
He just finished a season in which he averaged 27.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 49.4% from the field.
According to Greenberg, Booker will very likely miss Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz at home.
The Suns are also without Bradley Beal, who did not play on Tuesday and has been ruled out for Thursday.
If the Suns can stay healthy this season, they will be a contender for the NBA Championship in 2024.
They are coming off a season in which they were the fourth seed in the Western Conference and fell in the second round of the NBA playoffs (in six games) to the Denver Nuggets.
The Suns acquired Beal in an offseason trade with the Washington Wizards.
