LeBron James Approaching 21st Season with Lakers with Rookie-Like Training Intensity

LeBron James is taking a nostalgic approach to his offseason training, channeling the dedication and intensity of his rookie years. Despite entering his 21st season in the league, the 19-time All-Star is treating his workouts as if he’s a young player striving to make his mark.

RĐľb Pelinka, the Los Angeles Lakers’ vice president of basketball operations and general manager, praised James’ commitment, highlighting his early morning training sessions and extensive presence in the team’s facilities.

Pelinka continued by saying that the team is building youthful depth around him to make sure he does not suffer too much wear and tear through the season.

“We have to partner with [James] to help him get all the way to the end [of the season healthy], because that’s his goal,” Pelinka said, per McMenamin. “And so I think adding the depth we have, the versatility, the shooting, all those things are going to help us manage that.”

Despite his lengthy career, James remĐ°ins a dominant force in the NBA, consistently delivering impressive performances. While he hasn’t completed a full 82-game season since 2017-18, the Lakers are aiming to manage his workload effectively and help him stay healthy for the long haul. By dialing back to his early days, James is intelligently preparing himself for the challenges of the upcoming season.
